Surviving the Snow-Pacolypse

Hello friends and happy Friday. I hope you have all been in good spirits during this unprecedented “Spring” semester. We have experienced record snowfall here in Massachusetts, but the amount of snow isn’t the big issue for us as students. The snow has come primarily on Monday’s, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. which means we have missed eight days of actual class time. None of us have had an actual Monday class schedule and Tuesday’s are not much different.

Take this time off to get ahead of your classes! I know it may seem as if your winter break never ended, but we will soon be in March and our professors will be working hard to get the semester back on track. This will likely result in an explosion of work in the next couple of weeks,  do not procrastinate! It will only set you back even more.

Here are a couple of ways to get ahead:

  • Look ahead in the Syllabus for your classes, ensuring you are caught up with any reading or assignments that can be done outside of class, without the aid of your Professor.
  • Email your Professors asking for any work that can be done outside of class if the syllabus does not have anything for you to do.
  • Ask if the professor could post lectures online or broadcast hem as a podcast so as to get a jump on the material.
  • Take this time to plan out the next couple of weeks and how you will get everything done, you know you have to free time to do it!
For those of you who have been hard at work during these snow days I commend you. For those of you who have been eating Cheetos and binge watching Netflix, I understand you on a personal level. We must strike a balance with these activities if we are to succeed and make this semester more than a snow laden mess. Good luck and be safe, its Valentines Day weekend!
