New Years resolutions are still a thing, right?

I’m not going to lie, my New Years resolutions always go down the tubes within a week or two. But who’s to say we can’t start over again? It’s the effort that counts right? Right. My point is, once things start to go haywire and your resolution begins to fall apart, TRY AGAIN! Those of you who get it the first time around, props to you because changing something about your daily routine can be a serious hassle, especially when it comes to trying to break old habits. Prepare yourselves for the sappiness that I’m about to throw down…

The beauty of coming back here after break is that chance to try again. From personal experience, I can tell you your mental and physical health are two insanely important aspects of making your time here worthwhile. So why not use the resources you’re given to ensure both of those things are healthy and functioning at their best? I know it’s the last thing some students want to hear, but be as physically active as possible this semester! Not only do you have the Campus Recreation Center on east AND the Riverview Fitness Center on south, you also have the weather on your side! (Okay maybe not at the moment, but it will get better!) As soon as the spring temperatures set in, go for a walk, a run, take out a bike from freewheelers, do something! Your physical activity has a direct correlation to your mental health. I’m not saying run marathons, but make the effort to make some subtle changes along the way. Take the stairs instead of the elevator, if the weather is nice start walking/riding a bike from campus to campus, etc. Even the little things may seem like a hassle, but I promise you it will all pay off!
