WELCOMMMEEEE TO UMASS LOWELLLL!! :]

Hey Everyone!

I hope everyone is having a great first two weeks of classes! My name is Jess Yu and I am one of the lovely orientation ambassadors that we have on staff here at UMass Lowell. Some of you guys probably recognize me from being an Orientation Leader this summer. I was the one that was being crazy, or maybe you recognize me from being the foreign exchange student in the skit. Anyways, we are here as a resource to you, answer any questions you have. We are even here to here about your experience so please feel free to tell us! We are here to help you!

So a little about myself… I am 20 year old sophomore from Plaistow, New Hampshire (don’t bother trying to act like you know where that is :] ) I am also a Medical Technology major currently taking Business and Nutrition classes so I can receive a Business minor and Nutrition minor. I am currently taking 3 business classes right now and let me tell you…they are NOT easy! After being in these classes, I am 100% positive that I have picked the perfect major for me. I have always wanted to do something in the health field and the health science classes that I have to take for my major are just so interesting and I really enjoy it! Any questions that you may have about majors please feel free to ask one of us…all of our majors are pretty diverse!
I am also Captain of the Women’s Rugby Team that we have here at UMass Lowell. I am absolutely OBSESSED with rugby, since I have been playing for 4 years…2 in high school and 2 in college. This summer, I was lucky enough to be able to be part of a team that made it to the national rugby tournament and be a starter for the team. It was a tough and long journey to get there but it felt amazing when I was there. It is an excellent sport which teaches you a lot of discipline and quick decision making and I recommend all of you to try it! If rugby is not your thing I recommend everyone to join a club, either sport or a group. It’s always great to get involved!

I currently live in an apartment right off campus.  I was a commuter freshmen year first semester than lived in the residence halls freshmen year second semester than all sopohmore year so I have experienced everything!  I also work two jobs, one work study, and also a night time job at Market Basket so as you guys can tell, I am a very busy girl but I wouldn’t want it any other way…I love staying busy and staying involved. But that’s wayyy too much information about me…lets here about YOU! Any questions that you guys have, please feel free to ask! I would be more than happy to answer anything. :]
Peaceeee out!
Jess
