This advanced course immerses future Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) educators in the design and facilitation of authentic, interdisciplinary learning experiences driven by real-world problems. Project-Based Instruction challenges students to develop instructional units that are inquiry-driven, standards-aligned, and centered on student collaboration and critical thinking. Through a combination of course readings, collaborative planning, and extended field teaching experiences, participants learn how to manage complex classroom dynamics, assess student learning in context, and scaffold instruction to support diverse learners. The course culminates in the delivery of a multi-day project in a local secondary classroom, giving students the opportunity to integrate content knowledge, pedagogical strategies, and equity-centered practices in a dynamic, student-focused learning environment.
