This introductory course offers undergraduate students an opportunity to explore the teaching profession through the lens of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education. Designed for students considering a career in secondary science, technology, engineering, or mathematics education, the course combines engaging, research-based instruction with hands-on teaching experience. Participants work in pairs to design and deliver inquiry-based STEM lessons in local middle school classrooms, with a strong emphasis on lesson planning, student engagement, and reflective practice. Through a blend of theory and fieldwork, students gain valuable insights into the complexities and rewards of teaching, while developing foundational skills that support effective instruction and classroom leadership.
