{"id":90,"date":"2015-07-10T15:34:51","date_gmt":"2015-07-10T20:34:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.uml.edu\/paris-2015\/?p=90"},"modified":"2015-07-10T15:37:30","modified_gmt":"2015-07-10T20:37:30","slug":"july-10th-2015-by-erin-byrne","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uml.edu\/paris-2015\/2015\/07\/10\/july-10th-2015-by-erin-byrne\/","title":{"rendered":"July 10th, 2015 by Erin Byrne"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today we took a beautiful trip to Monet&#8217;s house and gardens.\u00a0 The day began with a ride on the RER a train ride to Giverny and then a 15 minute bus ride to Monet&#8217;s house.\u00a0 Upon arrival we were immediately greeted by the quiet and beautiful countryside. Being from a small town myself, the birds were a welcome change from all of the exciting but loud city noises we have been experiencing so far.\u00a0 The bus ride dropped us off in a beautiful little area that held some small caf\u00e9s and gift shops.\u00a0 The first thing that we did was search for\u00a0 a good place to have lunch.\u00a0 We quickly settled on a caf\u00e9 that held tables surrounded by bamboo, giving the dining area a relaxing and shaded atmosphere that everyone loved.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"spotlight\" src=\"https:\/\/scontent-cdg2-1.xx.fbcdn.net\/hphotos-xat1\/v\/t1.0-9\/11264832_10207302935516983_5656342092180573824_n.jpg?oh=65d119ac89d7f8f7471d330c428ae792&amp;oe=561279C9\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"spotlight\" src=\"https:\/\/scontent-cdg2-1.xx.fbcdn.net\/hphotos-xft1\/v\/t1.0-9\/10404083_10207302936116998_3477288614549829150_n.jpg?oh=2982dff727d54c9b675f14ff7e49a5e3&amp;oe=5613C9D8\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After lunch we met our lovely tour guide, Ariane.\u00a0 Her extensive knowledge on Monet and his gardens, her sweet dispostition and beautiful french accent made the tour even more enjoyable.\u00a0\u00a0 She first showed us the lily pond garden where Monet painted his most well known works.\u00a0 This area was meticuolusly maintained, full of shade and has quickly become one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"spotlight\" src=\"https:\/\/scontent-cdg2-1.xx.fbcdn.net\/hphotos-xtp1\/v\/t1.0-9\/11707663_10207302942117148_435180782745693849_n.jpg?oh=fd4ccfb0def6163b591bb3d2902f423e&amp;oe=56184126\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img class=\"spotlight\" src=\"https:\/\/scontent-cdg2-1.xx.fbcdn.net\/hphotos-xtf1\/v\/t1.0-9\/11742878_10207302936477007_5623015758314871978_n.jpg?oh=95a6c0e8225a427a98399f602df31ce8&amp;oe=561C599E\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img class=\"spotlight\" src=\"https:\/\/scontent-cdg2-1.xx.fbcdn.net\/hphotos-xtf1\/v\/t1.0-9\/11693863_10207302942997170_8742526422416002633_n.jpg?oh=331777de3c7ca271f2a2a1017d70e983&amp;oe=5610C5F7\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Then we toured the his other garden which was just as beautiful as the other but had a more organized nature and much more sunlight.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"spotlight\" src=\"https:\/\/scontent-cdg2-1.xx.fbcdn.net\/hphotos-xap1\/v\/t1.0-9\/10410534_10207302943757189_8706980330483941991_n.jpg?oh=a0b0d5a75df0a5e1e158eeace383576f&amp;oe=56546F3F\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>After touring both gardens we toured through Monet&#8217;s house which was very beautiful and decorated with his favorite (and also mine) color combination: blue and yellow.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"spotlight\" src=\"https:\/\/scontent-cdg2-1.xx.fbcdn.net\/hphotos-xpf1\/v\/t1.0-9\/11188278_10207302944317203_2402066307530000994_n.jpg?oh=a1c50138fa7ccca653e68ae6dd344863&amp;oe=56598000\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img class=\"spotlight\" src=\"https:\/\/scontent-cdg2-1.xx.fbcdn.net\/hphotos-xaf1\/v\/t1.0-9\/11667493_10207302944717213_1737918252005925170_n.jpg?oh=9f092c052c8d480c81d6672678e3fb04&amp;oe=5659FA43\" alt=\"\" \/>Ju<\/p>\n<p>Upon finishing the tour we thanked Ariane and then waited for our train by getting some ice cream.\u00a0 Then we procceeded to take the bus, the train and the RER back to the Cit\u00e9.\u00a0 Today was definitely my favorite day so far but I know we have more beautiful experiences coming our way and I cannot wait!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today we took a beautiful trip to Monet&#8217;s house and gardens.\u00a0 The day began with a ride on the RER a train ride to Giverny and then a 15 minute bus ride to Monet&#8217;s house.\u00a0 Upon arrival we were immediately &hellip;
