One should change their major to match their passions, not their desired homework level. If that were the case, I would have majored in sleep studies (if only that were a thing).<\/span><\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright\" style=\"color: #333333;font-style: normal;font-weight: 400\" src=\"https:\/\/vignette.wikia.nocookie.net\/yandere-simulator-fanon\/images\/1\/13\/O-KIM-KARDASHIAN-UGLY-CRYING-FACE-facebook.jpg\/revision\/latest?cb=20160201002914\" alt=\"Image result for kim kardashian crying\" width=\"114\" height=\"101\" \/><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Graduation<\/strong> <span style=\"color: #339966\">comes a lot quicker than you think. Be proactive. Look into the\u00a0job\u00a0market and what you\u2019ll have to do to make it BEFORE senior year. Or do what I\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;color: #339966\">did and just change your career path! No biggie&#8230; *crying internally*\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Senioritis<\/strong> <span style=\"color: #339966\">is real! Avoid taking heavy course loads\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;color: #339966\">senior year if you can help it. I&#8217;m completing my Honors Thesis and I want to crawl in a hole, but the work isn&#8217;t even difficult! Imagine if I were taking Physics or something of that nature!?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Make<\/strong> <span style=\"color: #339966\">the most out of your experience. You don\u2019t want to reach senior year and wish you had gotten involved on campus. I ended up joining the Step Team senior\u00a0year and I also plan to go on a Campus Rec Adventure Trip- skydiving!<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft\" style=\"color: #333333;font-style: normal;font-weight: 400\" src=\"https:\/\/img.buzzfeed.com\/buzzfeed-static\/static\/2018-01\/12\/12\/asset\/buzzfeed-prod-fastlane-03\/sub-buzz-6505-1515779402-3.png?downsize=715:*&amp;output-format=auto&amp;output-quality=auto\" alt=\"Image result for meme when I should be sleeping\" width=\"309\" height=\"228\" \/><strong>Sleep<\/strong> <span style=\"color: #339966\">is very important. But you probably won\u2019t do much of it unless you set your sleep schedule up for success. AKA don&#8217;t start online shopping at 3am. Yes, those shoes are awesome, but you won&#8217;t feel so awesome at your 9am class. TRUST ME!!<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;color: #339966\">Not knowing is okay. Wallowing in your self pity about not knowing is NOT okay. Seek out resources! There are so many at UMass Lowell. Just Google it!<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Learn<\/strong> <span style=\"color: #339966\">to say \u201cno\u201d. This can mean no to relationships, playing video games the night before an exam, taking substances, joining clubs, etc. In the long run, your peace of mind is WAAAY more important. Trust me, escaping humans is very important to keep your sanity.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Educate<\/strong> <span style=\"color: #339966\">yourself outside of your major. This is why I joined the Honors College. Otherwise, I&#8217;d know a lot about proper weight lifting techniques and nothing else.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Surround<\/strong> <span style=\"color: #339966\">yourself with people who have traits you\u2019d like to emulate because iron sharpens iron. If you find yourself in a group you want to be the opposite of- RUN AWAY! Unless they&#8217;re running on the track and you want to run to, then run with them.<\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.pinimg.com\/originals\/0c\/af\/11\/0caf11cc057675e3936a2dd26d636656.png\" alt=\"Image result for meme about best friends\" width=\"196\" height=\"184\" \/><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Have<\/strong> <span style=\"color: #339966\">fun and slowly inch out of your comfort zone! I always say, \u201cWhat\u2019s the point of life if you\u2019re not enjoying it?\u201d Plus, along the way, you\u2019ll find yourself, new friends, and a plethora of new experiences!<\/span><\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wiseinsights.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/word-image.png\" alt=\"Image result for comfort zone\" width=\"295\" height=\"261\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #99cc00\"><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8230;I would continue, but I have NOT been setting my sleep schedule up for success and it\u2019s<span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong> nap<\/strong><\/span> time!<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>People always say it\u2019s okay to change your major, but forget to add that each major has its set of difficulties.
